We were delighted with the work Water Lane Joinery did as main fit out contractors the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa and at the Oriental Museum, Durham. The work was executed on time and to budget and because it was of such a high standard it has proved to be very durable which is absolutely vital in a museum environment.

Collaborative, communicative, high-quality project delivery.

One of the biggest challenges in any restoration, refurbishment or building project is finding a company who can effectively manage the site and ensure all work is completed to timescales, without compromising on quality.

We have over thirty years experience working on site, and have project-managed building, restoration and refurbishment projects of varying complexity. We have managed major museum and hotel fit outs, as well as the restoration of large manor houses and estates, and full refurbishment of many period family homes of every size.

Whatever the project, our approach remains the same: to bring a great deal of knowledge and expertise, and to always communicate and collaborate as closely as possible with clients at every stage of the design and build process.

Hotels

We have longstanding experience in hotels. We have produced individual pieces of bespoke furniture (including a fifty foot long boardroom table in English Oak) for many of the country's most prestigious hotels. We have also made limited runs of writing desks, television cabinets etc and ensured that these were delivered on very short lead times. On many occasions we have been given a brief for a piece and have made and delivered it within a few days of the order being placed.

We have also made and installed many hand-crafted interiors as part of major refurbishment programmes. All our work is executed with the concept of minimal maintenance in mind.

Museums and Displays

Our production takes place in a highly organised facility which boasts modern machinery as well as a large collection of tools for hand work. Production drawings go to our office before being reconfigured into clear cutting lists, section details and easily understandable information before manufacture. Finished work is stored in a separate area or in the case of larger contracts in a separate unit used specifically for safe storage. It is then available for inspection so the client can be sure that all work required for a contract is ready for installation by the agreed deadline. This is particularly important when installation time is limited and work must be completed with high levels of efficiency.

We have acted as the main fit out contractor for numerous museum contracts across the UK. Our attention to detail and use of high quality durable materials and finishes ensure that our museum interiors stand the test of time.

In terms of installation, we have a highly efficient site team who are equipped with time tested installation equipment organised into stand alone units. These are checked daily to ensure the smooth running of the fit out.

During the installation progress we take great care to protect surrounding areas and any artefacts that may be left in place. Once work is completed it is thoroughly protected with covers, that are carefully constructed so that they may be removed for inspection.
